Services

Women's Physical Therapy InstituteAt WoMen’s Physical Therapy Institute (WPTI), we specialize in treating both pelvic and orthopedic conditions. You benefit from a private session of up to one hour with a licensed physical therapist in a relaxing treatment room designed to put you at ease. And, if additional medical services are required, we coordinate care and collaborate with referral sources.

As a follow-up to your office visits, our physical therapists will even review exercise equipment at your home or gym to ensure you are pursuing your program correctly.

Pelvic conditions treated fall into two major categories incontinence (involuntary loss of urine, feces or gas) and pelvic pain. Urinary and bowel urgency and frequency are also addressed. Our therapists do a gentle pelvic muscle exam vaginally or rectally to assess the pelvic floor. They then plan a treatment program based on your specific results.

Specific Conditions include:

  • Abdominal Adhesions - internal scarring
  • Coccydynia – Tailbone pain
  • Dyspareunia – pain with intercourse
  • Incontinence, urinary, fecal or gas; urge or stress

Orthopedic conditions treated range from acute athletic injuries to post surgical problems to total joint replacements. Our therapists spend time evaluating the cause of your problem. Our goal is to restore optimal function and prevent further injury.
